2020 Wellington & Wolfe Eylandt Reserve Off Dry Riesling – Pipers River

The wine is made in the best years only and sees extended skin and lees contact, with partial fermentation in French oak. It is delicate, pure and elegant: a unique representation of the finest Riesling grown on this island. Fermentation was stopped early to retain natural grape sugars, balancing with the beautiful acid line. 8.5% alcohol and all delicious.

Eylandt (Dutch for island) is the script from Abel Tasman’s 1642 journal when he first charted Van Diemen’s Land.
